Synopsis

## Death Note *Death Note* is a tightly wound psychological thriller that asks how far one person's sense of justice can go before it becomes something monstrous. Light Yagami is a brilliant but bored high school student who stumbles upon a supernatural notebook: write a person's name in it while picturing their face, and that person dies. The notebook belongs to a Shinigami (death god) named Ryuk, who dropped it in the human world out of curiosity. Light decides to use the notebook to rid the world of criminals, envisioning himself as the god of a new world. He becomes "Kira" β€” worshipped by many, feared by all. The only person who can stop him is L, a reclusive genius detective with no known identity. What follows is a cat-and-mouse intellectual duel between two of anime's most iconic characters.
