Synopsis
## Devilman: Crybaby
*Devilman: Crybaby* is Masaaki Yuasa's most uncompromising work — a visionary, aesthetically radical retelling of Go Nagai's foundational dark manga that shocked Netflix viewers with its unapologetic brutality and genuine emotional devastation.
Akira Fudo is a pure-hearted, empathetic boy — easily moved to tears. His childhood friend Ryo Asuka convinces him that demons are real and about to emerge to reclaim the Earth, and that only a human with a strong enough will can become a Devilman — merging with a demon without losing their humanity. Akira succeeds, becoming Devilman Crybaby. But as he uses his powers to fight demons, the world around him descends into chaos and paranoia as humans and demons are drawn into an escalating war. Yuasa's loose, expressionistic animation creates one of anime's most viscerally affecting viewing experiences.
