In the wasteland outside, a teenage boy named Maru travels with a mysterious guide named Kiruko, hunting for a place called "Heaven" while evading flesh-eating monsters called Man-Eaters. Meanwhile, inside a sealed, utopian facility, children live sheltered lives under the care of robot caretakers, with no knowledge of the outside world. Tokio, one of these children, begins having visions of the outside and a boy who looks identical to Maru. As both narratives unfold, the connections between the facility and the outside world reveal something far more disturbing than either protagonist imagined. *Heavenly Delusion* is a masterful slow-burn mystery with stunning Production I.G visuals and a willingness to sit with ambiguity.
