Synopsis
## Inuyasha
*Inuyasha* is one of the foundational long-form adventure anime — a sweeping fantasy romance that introduced millions of viewers worldwide to the genre in the early 2000s and remains a landmark of the era.
Kagome Higurashi, a fifteen-year-old girl living on the grounds of her family's Shinto shrine, is pulled through an ancient well into Japan's Warring States period. There she encounters Inuyasha, a half-demon pinned to a tree by a sacred arrow for fifty years. Freed by Kagome, Inuyasha helps her retrieve a magical jewel — the Shikon no Tama — that shatters into hundreds of fragments scattered across the land. Together with the monk Miroku, the demon slayer Sango, and the fox demon Shippo, they journey across feudal Japan to recover the shards before the villainous Naraku can use them to gain godlike power. At the heart of the story is the tangled, slow-burn relationship between Kagome and Inuyasha, and the tragic history that binds Inuyasha to the priestess Kikyo.
