Synopsis
## Kiki's Delivery Service
*Kiki's Delivery Service* (*Majo no Takkyuubin*) is one of Miyazaki's most personal films — a delicate, wise story about the anxiety of leaving home, finding one's purpose, and rediscovering creative joy.
In accordance with witch tradition, thirteen-year-old Kiki leaves home with only her talking cat Jiji to spend a year living independently in a new town. She sets up a broomstick delivery service in a coastal city, using her flying ability as her trade. But as the demands of independence wear on her, she loses her ability to fly — a metaphor for creative block and the paralyzing effects of self-doubt. The film is a gentle, deeply compassionate portrait of a teenager finding her confidence in the world.
