## Kuroko's Basketball *Kuroko's Basketball* takes the battle-shonen formula and applies it to basketball with tremendous success — a sport anime driven not by realistic tactics but by the logic of special moves and power levels, executed with enough sincerity and stylistic flair to make it thrilling. Seirin High's basketball club gains two remarkable freshmen: Tetsuya Kuroko, a phantom player so lacking in presence he is barely noticed by anyone on or off the court, and Taiga Kagami, a powerhouse who spent his formative years playing basketball in the United States. Together they aim to defeat the "Generation of Miracles" — the five prodigiously talented players who made Teiko Middle School's basketball team invincible, and who have since scattered to rival high schools across Japan. Kuroko's unique style — he makes himself invisible to redirect the play toward his teammates — combined with Kagami's explosive athleticism creates a partnership unlike anything seen in high school basketball. What follows is a tournament run that pits Seirin against increasingly formidable opponents, each of whom is a former miracle.
