Synopsis

## Laid-Back Camp *Laid-Back Camp* (Japanese: *Yuru Camp△*) is one of the crown jewels of the iyashikei genre — a supremely cozy, visually gorgeous 13-episode anime from C-Station that celebrates the simple pleasure of camping, nature, and the warmth of friendship. First airing in winter 2018, it became an instant classic and spawned a dedicated sequel series, OVAs, a live-action adaptation, and a feature film. Stream on Crunchyroll. High school student Rin Shima is a dedicated solo camper who finds peace and contentment in quietly setting up camp alone under the stars, particularly at the base of Mount Fuji. Her solitary routine is upended when she encounters Nadeshiko Kagamihara — a cheerful, enthusiastic girl who has just ridden her bicycle to the famous overlook and promptly gotten lost. Despite their very different personalities — Rin introverted and methodical, Nadeshiko exuberant and spontaneous — they share a meal and a view, and something between friendship and admiration begins. Nadeshiko joins her school's Outdoor Activities Club (which consists of her, two other girls, and their laid-back advisor), and begins pursuing camping with all the enthusiasm she brings to everything. The series alternates between Rin's solo trips and the club's group outings, finding equal beauty in both. What makes *Laid-Back Camp* exceptional is its attention to detail — camping equipment, route planning, seasonal foods, fire-building, site selection — rendered with affection and accuracy. The background art of Yamanashi Prefecture's landscapes is breathtaking. But at its heart, it is a show about finding your own rhythm and the warmth that comes from sharing moments, however brief, with others.
