Synopsis
## Nana
*Nana* is one of the most emotionally sophisticated anime ever produced — a josei masterpiece about two women sharing a name and an apartment while living completely different lives, told with the kind of messy, honest humanity that the medium rarely achieves.
On a train bound for Tokyo, two young women named Nana sit together by chance. Nana Komatsu is a naive, romantic girl following her boyfriend to the city; Nana Osaki is a fierce punk singer chasing her dream of making it big with her band, BLAST. They part ways — only to end up as roommates in the same cramped apartment. The series follows their deepening friendship as they each pursue what they came to Tokyo for: Hachi (as Komatsu comes to be called) navigating a complicated love life, and Osaki building toward the music career she's sacrificed everything for. *Nana* refuses to sentimentalize the gap between dreams and reality, and the result is a story that feels true in ways that few anime attempt.
