Synopsis

## Natsume's Book of Friends *Natsume's Book of Friends* (Natsume Yuujinchou) is one of anime's most quietly extraordinary series — a supernatural drama about loneliness, belonging, and the gentle art of letting go. Consistently ranked among the most emotionally resonant anime of its era, it has run across six seasons and remains beloved years after its debut. Takashi Natsume has spent his life being passed between relatives, unable to tell anyone that he can see the spirits and yokai that others cannot. Feared as strange, he has never fit in anywhere. When he inherits the "Book of Friends" from his late grandmother Reiko — a book containing the names of spirits she defeated and bound to her will — Natsume decides to spend his time returning each name to its owner. Accompanied by Madara, a powerful spirit who takes the form of a round, grumpy cat (nicknamed Nyanko-sensei), Natsume encounters a new spirit each episode, slowly learning about their histories, their grief, and what it means to connect across impossible distances. The series is an anthology of small, perfect stories.
