Synopsis
## Noragami
**Noragami** (ノラガミ, lit. *Stray God*) is a 2014 anime television series produced by Bones, adapted from Adachitoka's manga. The series received critical acclaim for its design, action sequences, and the surprising emotional depth it finds in the story of a god whose need to be worshipped is less about vanity than about the terror of being forgotten into nothingness. A second season, *Noragami Aragoto*, followed in 2015.
Yato is a minor, forgotten god with no shrine and no worshippers — a self-declared "god of fortune" who advertises his services with graffiti on bathroom walls, charging five yen per job (the standard prayer offering). He does everything from finding lost cats to battling the malevolent spirits called Phantoms that threaten the mortal world. His current weapon, or "Regalia," has just quit. Then fate tangles him with Hiyori Iki, a high school girl whose soul becomes partially dislodged from her body after she pushes Yato out of the way of a bus. Now her soul keeps slipping out and she can see the spirit world. Yato also finds a new Regalia in Yukine, the ghost of a teenager who died in mysterious circumstances and carries that death as a wound. The three form an uneasy, gradually warming family unit as they navigate gods, Phantoms, and Yukine's traumatic past.
