## SK8 the Infinity *SK8 the Infinity* (*SK∞*) is a joyful, high-octane sports anime from Bones that took the 2021 winter season by storm — a love letter to skateboarding culture wrapped around a cast of vividly realized characters and knockout animation. In Okinawa, a secret skateboarding race called "S" takes place in the tunnels of an abandoned mine at night. Reki Kyan, a passionate high schooler obsessed with skateboarding, introduces his new Canadian classmate Langa Hasegawa to the world of S. Despite having no skateboarding experience, Langa — a former snowboarder — discovers an uncanny natural talent on the board. The two quickly become entangled in the competitive world of S, facing off against increasingly skilled and eccentric rivals, from the calm prodigy Miya to the theatrical villain ADAM, who treats his matches as violent works of art. Directed by Hiroko Utsumi and animated by Bones, *SK8 the Infinity* excels both in the kinetic energy of its skating sequences and in the warmth of its character dynamics. A second season was confirmed in 2024.
