## The Case Study of Vanitas In gaslit 19th-century Paris, a curious vampire allies with an enigmatic human doctor who wields a cursed grimoire and claims he can cure the madness afflicting vampire-kind. In an alternate 19th-century Paris of steampunk airships, the young vampire Noé Archiviste searches for the fabled Book of Vanitas, a grimoire said to corrupt vampires into rampaging "curse-bearers." When a maddened vampire attacks him, a flamboyant human calling himself Vanitas intervenes, wielding the very book to heal the afflicted creature.
