Synopsis

## Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku *Wotakoi* is a rare gem in the romance genre — a story about adult otaku navigating love and relationships without the amnesia of being teenagers, celebrated for its warmth, wit, and genuine affection for geek culture. Narumi Momose is a fujoshi (manga fan of boys' love) who has repeatedly had relationships end because of her hobby. Starting a new job, she vows to keep her otaku identity secret — only to discover that her childhood friend and gaming obsessive Hirotaka Nifuji works at the same company. When he casually suggests they just date each other ("since we're both otaku"), their awkward relationship begins. The series follows Narumi and Hirotaka alongside two other coworker couples, all balancing careers, hobbies, video games, cosplay, and the genuine challenges of adult romance. Adapted from Fujita's webmanga, *Wotakoi* is the rare romance anime that makes otaku characters feel real rather than caricatured.
