Ufotable's flagship shonen adaptation returns with its fourth season, and the studio has once again demonstrated why it sets the visual benchmark for the industry.
**Visual Excellence**
The premiere opens with a sequence that immediately establishes the scale of what's coming. The Hashira Training Arc begins with the revelation that the nine Hashira — the most elite Demon Slayers — will individually train each of the corps' members. The production design is immaculate: character animation is fluid, lighting is sophisticated, and the environmental art direction raises the bar yet again.
**The Arc Itself**
The Hashira Training arc is a transitional arc in the manga — lighter on action than previous seasons, heavier on character development and world-building. Fans who came for the explosive fight sequences of the Entertainment District and Swordsmith Village arcs may find the pacing here more deliberate.
That said, the character work is among the best the series has offered. We get extended time with each of the Hashira, fleshing out personalities that were previously background elements.
**Performance of the Season?**
It's too early to call, but Ufotable's commitment to visual quality — even in dialogue-heavy training sequences — suggests this season will be another landmark in the show's run.
