Synopsis

## Berserk *Berserk* by Kentaro Miura is one of the most celebrated dark fantasy manga ever created. Following Miura's passing in May 2021, the manga's continuation was entrusted to his longtime collaborator **Kouji Mori** and **Studio Gaga** — the studio that assisted Miura throughout the manga's history. As of 2026, the continuation is actively publishing in Young Animal magazine, with **Chapter 375 expected in June 2026** and Studio Gaga confirming the publication schedule through 2027. The status has been updated from hiatus to **ongoing**. Guts is a lone mercenary warrior, known as the Black Swordsman, who wields an enormous sword called the Dragonslayer. Cursed by a brand that draws demons to him every night, Guts walks a path of brutal violence and tragedy. The manga follows his origin: how he grew up on a battlefield, joined the mercenary Band of the Hawk led by the brilliant Griffith, and how a catastrophic betrayal called the Eclipse shattered everything he knew. Berserk explores themes of ambition, fate, betrayal, and the struggle to remain human against overwhelming darkness. The ongoing Fantasia arc — continued by Kouji Mori and Studio Gaga — follows Guts, Casca, and their companions navigating a world transformed after the destruction of the Idea of Evil, as the saga presses toward the conclusion Miura had planned and shared with Mori. Published in Young Animal; collected volumes available worldwide through Dark Horse Comics.
