Synopsis

## Noragami *Noragami* (meaning "Stray God") by the duo Adachitoka is a beloved supernatural action manga serialized in Monthly Shonen Magazine — a story rooted in Japanese mythology that balances irreverent comedy with genuinely affecting emotional drama and one of the most memorable deities in manga. Yato is a minor god — so forgotten that he doesn't even have a shrine. He scrapes by doing odd jobs for five yen a piece, plastering his phone number on bathroom walls and dreaming of one day having worshippers and a grand shrine of his own. His weapons master, called a Regalia, quits on him, leaving him adrift. When middle schooler Hiyori Iki pushes him out of the way of a bus, she is partially separated from her own body — her soul now slips out when she sleeps, leaving her to wander a supernatural plane between the living and the dead. Tethered to Yato against her will, she demands he fix her. Yato takes on a new Regalia: a young spirit named Yukine who died a painful death and carries unresolved grief. Together, the three navigate a world of gods, demons, spirits, and the treacherous politics of the divine realm. Adachitoka's art is particularly strong in its supernatural sequences, and the manga's emotional core — the loneliness of forgotten gods, the weight of trauma in the dead — gives it real depth beneath the surface comedy.
